Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Minimates Review : Capt. America Vs. Ryu

Hello there!
This here is my review of some Minimates that I got a few months back,
that are from the crossover fighting game: Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
Which includes: Capt. America and Ryu who are ready to fight!
For those of you who don't know what Minimates are:
Minimates are 2 inch Lego-like action figures that have 14 points of articulation, have interchangeable parts, and have various lines like Marvel, Ghost Busters, Halo, and more to choose from.

Anyway find out my thoughts on these minimates after the jump!

First off we have Marvel's : Capt. America
Once a scrawny young man wanting to join the fight against the Nazis in WW2, became an experiment for America's Super Solider Program and it was a success.
Now fueled by the Super Solider Serum and using his trusty shield, Steve Rogers became:
 Capt. America!
Red, White, and Blue! That's the American way!

Capt. America is has become a fav of mine thanks to the recent Marvel movies.
Also he's got the whole patriotic thing down pretty well as anyone can see.

Capt. America  comes with his shield, clear stand, and a blonde hair piece.
Like all Minimates, he has a normal body base.
But it's the sculpted details that they added like his helmet (which has some nice details), boots, belt and
gloves which actually are both are seperate parts from the hands, making it easier to move his hands without accidently taking his hands off or moving his shield and are both different with his left glove having a nicely detailed strap showing how his shield is attached (though it actually has a peg where you can take the sheild off and on).
Also as for the details on the actual Minimate itself, I must say I really like the details they gave him. His torso has printed details not only on the front (though it is the most detailed part) but on the sides and back has printed details as well.
Also ever since I got my first minimate when they first came out and were sold at Target stores, was my Iron Man and he had painted details on his legs which I thought looked so cool and looked much better then it would have with out it. So seeing that they did this with this Capt. America, I'm glad they did since it's the small details that count I think.
The overall brighter blue and red colors really make this minimate stand out.

He seems to have a pretty angry face which looks pretty good (even though I personally like him to have a more calmer face) and looks like he's really really to fight or is already fighting.
Well now we got all the details outta the way, I will say that he's a really fun, colorful, and playable minimate.
Now from Capcom's: Ryu
From the fighting game series: Street Fighter
Which is not only a popular and very well know series, not only have video games but Anime, movies, comics, and etc...
Ryu is pretty much the face of the series and is probably it's most reconizable character.
A warrior who wonders the world in order to find worthy oppenets so that he can become stronger, Ryu entered the Street Fighter tournament and the rest is history!
Here we have Ryu, which honestly isn't very detailed (only have painted details on his face, chest, and lower legs) but is still reconizable.
Here is where the the importance of scupted details comes into play, since the chest piece is really most of his outfit. I think its a really cool actually and I'm glad they approached it in this way instead of a printed chest piece.
The hair piece is nicely detailed and looks quite good.
The gloves on the other hand, well I think when they first made Ryu's gloves on his privious versions (like: Street Figther Vs Darkstalker series, and the the Marvel Vs Capcom TRU Exclusive Street FIghter 1 Ryu) were much better then what he was given here which kinda make his arms look like ape arms to me.
Ryu jumps into the battlefield
For his accessories, He comes with an Hadouken blast piece which can be attached to his hand and be placed on the clear stand that he comes with.
The stand is the same one that came with the Iron Man (full review here ) that I went on about there, since not only can you now place an hadouken blast on it (this was a great idea!) but that you can also put a minimate on it too!
Also as a bonus, here's how Ryu has changed since his first release (would do the same for Capt. be he has a lot of different versions)
Ryu Through the Ages: 2012 (Latest Version), 2012 (Toys R Us Exclusive) 2006 (Toys R Us Four Pack)

Also on thing I did which worked out really well, was switching out the hands between the two Ryus that were released in 2012.
But I will admit that overall, I still really like this minimate and it's very playable since none of the sculpted pieces hinder it's movement.
Overall I think this is a nice Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Minimates two pack.
It's a fun pack with cool characters that are fairly detailed, come with cool accessories, and are very playable.
So if you like any of the characters or the game or minmates in general, I would recommend you pick up this pack at your local comic shop.
Packaging shot ^^
Anyway I hope you enjoyed reading the review and checking out my pics!
If you have any thoughts, I'd love if you'd share them ^^
