SOUL CALIBUR: LOST SWORDS

Around July, Namco-Bandai registered the trademark "Soul Calibur: Lost Swords", and nothing more was known about what kind of game it could be. For the last few months there has been much speculation as to what this game would be.
Another sequel to the previous Soul Calibur game? A spin-off  like Soul Calibur: Legends ?"
No one knew, until just recently (last week):
Thanks to Gematsu
Soulcalibur: Lost Swords is in development for PlayStation 3, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals.
Details are currently slim, other than that it’s a free-to-play title.
Then just a few days after:

With even more details that would emerge afterwards like:
The fact that it would be more of a single player experience with weapons having elemental effects (I.E. Fire,Water,Earth,Wind, and etc.) with each having their own strengths and weakness as well as having the same fighting system of Soul Calibur 5 with some new features (like Elements).
It'll be exclusive to the PS3 this upcoming winter.

I have my share of thoughts on this news and about the returning character that makes it's appearance in the trailer above.

Fanart From Soul Calibur 2: Nightmare/Siegfried

Hi there! Been too long since I've last posted and new fanart. Anyway! x'D
Here is my latest fanart of Nightmare from Soul Calibur 2 in his Player 2 Outfit.
Nightmare and Siegfried are two of my favorite characters from the medieval fighting game series for how different and how similar they are, especially since they were the same character (Like in Soul Calibur 2).
Siegfried has been a fav of mine for his looks, his character development, and his unique mix-up/mind games play style. He is actually the first character I really liked enough to train and actually play seriously with, when I first played Soul Calibur 4 before I took fighting games seriously (beside Smash Bros Series).
Also I have began to like Nightmare even more nowadays with his looks, his character development, and his aggressive play style.

As for the picture, I drew it after hearing of the exciting news that Soul Calibur 2 is going to be brought into the current gaming consoles in HD and Online!
So Inspired by that news, I drew Nightmare in one of my favorite outfits of his that shows a bit of how both of them were once one in the same.
I just recently had some time and desire to color it in and I tried to add in some shaded details.

Anyway I hope you all like it!

My MineCraft Colosseum!

Hi guys! Today I thought I'd show you all a little big thing I've been working on since last Monday when the new update was released for awesome building game on the Xbox 360 (Originally a computer game) called MineCraft!

With the new update came a few new cool things but my favorite of them all:
Creative Mode.
Now this mode is special because unlike the regular mode where you have mine your own blocks and materials (like Wood,Stone,Iron,Gold, Diamond, and etc..), in this mode you are given and infinite amount of every kind of block in the game. Making it easier and less time consuming (getting the actual blocks to build with anyway) and creating endless possibilities!
As you can see with my Colosseum.
Which is rather large as you'll be able to see after the jump as we take a look of it from above the ground after the jump!

Tale of Soul and Swords...Eternally retold! My First Tournament!

With today's tale being of my first time entering and competing in a
Soul Calibur 4 Online tournament.
You can watch my journey unfold in the videos below. Also is you want to see the whole tournament be sure to check out Punisher15 64's channel as he uploads the rest of the matches. Be sure to let 'em know AJV sent cha. ;)

I was pretty nervous that I'd lose my first match and look terrible...but fate had other plans!
Otherwise I'd have to say that for my first tournament, I did alright thankfully. Could've been much worse..
I don't take it personally but I was surprised that I was expected to be the absolute worst out of the other players. Though it seems I surprised them and I'm glad I lasted as long as I did. Had some great matches with IXI Kujo IXI ,Extremedarkvoid (a friend of mine actually),Xlan59 (the best match I had with IMHO), and Aion Strife. Some of my other friends where in it too, like TheWoncho and DeonIV. ^^

Overall it was a cool experience and I wouldn't mind doing it again sometime for Soul Calibur 5.

A Comparison Between Soul Calibur 2 and Soul Calibur 4

Hi there,
Today I'd like to discuss and compare two Soul Calibur games from different eras and different gaming consoles.
Recently I bought SC2 (Soul Calibur 2) from my local Gamestop for about 8 bucks since
I've heard a lot about how great SC2 was and how much better it was compared to SC4 (Soul Calibur 4) and I wanted to see for myself first hand.
SC2 was originally released in 2003 for the GameCube,Xbox, and the PlayStation 2 with each of the consoles having exclusive characters as follows: Link (Legend of Zelda), Spawn (Todd McFarlane),Heihachi Mishima (Tekken).
While SC4 was released in 2008 for the Xbox360 and the PlayStation 3 with exclusive Star Wars characters for each console: Yoda (360), Darth Vader (PS3) The Apprentice (Both).

Read on to see if SC2 is actually better than SC4 or just highly regarded by those for it's nostalgia!

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 Review

Hello Everyone and
Welcome to my Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 Review.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2?
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is the sequel to the first Force Unleashed game that put you in the shoes of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice: Starkiller.
But there's a twist this time around.
If you saw the ending to the last one, then you know you shouldn't even be playin' as Starkiller.
Though it would seem that Darth Vader thought ahead of time and decided to clone Starkiller and make an army of super powerful Sith. You're a clone that rebels against Darth Vader and goes on a quest to reunite with the love of his life (or previous life): Juno Eclipse.
I'm serious...that's what really drives the story, but I'll get to that in a sec.

Now that I played it after renting it (like I did the first one) I think I can still properly review it since I've already beat it.
(Rented it Thursday night and played it a little, played it Friday night, and then, beat it Saturday morning after an hour of playing)

Click the Read More Button to Read the rest of Review and see how much Force you can Unleash this time around.

Fracture Review

Hi,
Welcome to my Review of Lucas Arts' Video Game:

What's Fracture?
Fracture is the act or process of breaking or the state of being broken; especially : the breaking of hard tissue (as bone).
...Oops, you probably want to read about the game not the Webster's meaning of it.
Well, it's Lucas Arts terrain changing,futuristic,3rd person shooter that was released in 2008.
I just got it this Christmas for a good price. ;)
You play as commando of the Atlantic Alliance (the good guys who use cybernetic enhancements) and fight against the Pacificans (the bad guys who use genetic engineering) in a Futuristic American Civil War that has spread across the world.

Graphics
The graphics are very nice and meet todays' standards when it comes to good graphics in next gen video game consoles and the characters and environments are nicely detailed. Some levels were really dark and it was kind of hard to see what you were doing.

Sound
The voice acting was good, though the bad guys said some pretty stupid stuff like:
"Where'd you go!?" and I'm right behind a barrier I just made between us. :P Some people didn't like that the Bad Guys sounded the same, but it didn't bother me considering bad guy troopers usually have the same voice anyway.
It's sound effects were good.
The music was alright, it fit mood of the game.

Gameplay
It's easy to pick up and play.
Being able to use Terrain Deformation is pretty handy if you need cover from enemy fire or want to make a trench but isn't something you have to use all the time, though can if you like. As for me, I've used it when if felt I needed to. Like squishing my enemies into the ceiling.

Characters
There aren't really that many characters in the game. I'm not talking about having different enemies types, I mean like main characters.
There's four main characters.
All of which are pretty much stereotypes. You have the Eye-Patch Tough Guy General,The Evil Scientist, The Damsel in Distress who can communicate telepathically like a dolphin (which is actually the unique thing about her),and of course You're the gruf,crew-cut Commando that has been seen in many video game before.
It doesn't take too much away, but it would have really drew you into the Story.

Length
If you remember my review of "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" there was one thing that really disappointed me.It was too short.
Like that game is one here is way too short. I beat it in five days.
While I was playing I could see the end coming near and I hoped I was wrong, but I was not.
Both games were made by Lucas Art and this one was made after "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed". I hope this does not become a habit of their's because $60.00 a game you want to get more then 24hrs of game play.

Weapons
Besides your gun that you shot at your enemies and use to change terrain there are also other weapons like: sniper rifles, gernade launchers, bombs, and a bunch others which add to the gameplay experience.

Modes

Story
The story is good, but like I said above the characters and the length drag it down a little bit.

Weapons Test
It's a good place to practice and try out some of the weapons.

Online
I'm not sure since my Xbox360 isn't hooked up to the internet so I can't really comment on that.

Other Features

Terrain Deformation
I talked about this under "gameplay" already.
Though one thing I'll add is that there are also Terrain Deformation Weapons like bombs that make the ground go up,make pillars, ditches, etc...

Cheats
Just one (I guess), a new skin.
I just went GameFaqs to find out.
Though there are Achievements that every XBOX360 Game has.

Appropriateness

Violence
You're fighting in a war where you shoot your enemies with a gun and Terrain Deformation weapons, so there is a violence but nothing bloody and nobody's losin' any limbs.
Sexual Content
I thing there might be a kiss in the end of the game by the player and the girl.
Other than that, Nothing.

Recommendations

Rent It or Get It Cheap
Try it out first or you can buy it if is on sale (like I did).
I don't regret buying it, but If I paid full price for it, I think I'd be pretty angry.
If these are the kind of games you're into and you find it at a good price, I say GO FOR MAN!

Age to Play
It's rated T-For-Teen by the ESRB which means 13 and up, I would recommend you just go by the rating.

Overall

It's not perfect,it not the greatest, but it is fun and that's what games are all about.
Unless it's one of those learning games the make for preschoolers.
The graphics are good and so is game play.
I give this game an 8 out of 10 score.

Hope you all liked my Fracture review.

Post you thoughts in the comment section.

Thanks.

See Ya Later!

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Review

Hi,
Welcome to my Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Review.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed?
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is the latest installment in the Star Wars saga where you play as Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice: Starkiller.
Now even though I only rented TFU for the Xbox 360 and didn't buy it (at least not yet...) I beat it twice and unlocked all the movies including the Light and Dark Side Endings.

  • Graphics
The graphics are beautifully done and really make the characters and environments come alive.

  • Sound
The voice acting is supperb. It's sound effects are good. The music is good too, but I can't help but feel that it sounds like they copied some of John Williams music or maybe they just sound as good as him.
  • Gameplay
It's very easy to pick up and play. It's a lot of fun Unleashing the Force by pushing, throwing, and electrocuting your enemies.
Modes

  • Story
The Story is awesome and is the main reason why any and every Star Wars fan will want to play this game! But sadly the game is a lot shorter than anyone expected

  • Training
It's a good place to practice and learn new moves and other stuff.

  • Other Stuff
Things like Videos,Pictures, and other stuff like that can be found here, though it doesn't add much to the gameplay experience.

Other Features

  • The Force
Being able to use the force is really cool and really makes the game.

  • Cheats
They allow you to play it with things like invincibility, different costumes, and other neat unlockables.

Appropriateness

  • Violence
You use a lightsaber so of course it's going to be violent, but there's no blood or any bodily dismemberment.
  • Sexual Content
Juno has some cleavage,Shaak Ti wears some tribal outfit, and Juno and Starkiller kiss once, but otherwise there's not much (or any) sexual content in the story at all.

Recommendations

  • Rent It
Try it out first and see what you think before buying since it is a short game.
  • Age to Play
It's rated T-For-Teen by the ESRB which means 13 and up, I would recommend you just go by the rating.

Overall

All and all it's a very fun and entertaining game with a few flaws (Too short). With great graphics and good game play, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is sure to chock you off you seat. So I give this game an 8.5 out of 10 score.
Hope you all liked my latest video game review.
Post you thoughts in the comment box.
Thanks. : )
